- Be sure to follow-up. Send thank you cards to your clients periodically. Send thank you cards (or gifts) with referrals. Word of mouth referrals will really help to grow your business and should be rewarded. If you are unable to send thank you cards and gifts right away, make a list of who needs them. Schedule a time on your daily list and take care of this as soon as possible.
